Scientific name- Catharanthus roseus
Medicinal impotance- 1. It decreases blood pressure and reduces excitement.
2. It is also proved anti-diabetic.
3. Catharanthus roseus is used as an anticancer agent. It is most effective for the treatment of lung cancer.
4. Periwinkle is also used for treating diarrhea, vaginal discharge, throat ailments, tonsillitis, chest pain, high blood pressure, sore throat, intestinal pain and swelling (inflammation), toothache, and water retention (edema). -
