Friedrich Nietzsche once stated “Without music, life would be a mistake”.  Music is a pleasant sound which is a combination of melodies harmony and rhythm.  The art of Music is a medium to create a feeling of cohesion or social connectedness. In fact, Music has been used as a therapeutic tool to treat variety of disorders including cardiac conditions, depression, autism, substance abuse and Alzheimer’s disease. It can also help with memory, lower blood pressure, improve coping, reduce stress, improve self-esteem and more.

Serampore Girls’ College has institutionalized Music as a course both for Honours and General students at the Undergraduate Level from 2016. The notes come out from his very life. They are not materials gathered from outside”.
