Description

During lockdown period, an online Extension Lecture programme was arranged for Semester 5 English Hons. students. The speaker was Dr Chandrima Karmakar, Assistant Professor of English, Maharani Kashiswari College. The topic of the lecture was "Achebe's Things Fall Apart as a postcolonial novel." 

Objective

1. To introduce our students to the writings of Chinua Achebe.

2. To endow the students with a knowledge of the larger issues of postcolonial novel.

3. To stimulate our students intellectually during the otherwise stagnating phase of lockdown. 

Outcome

1. Our students were interested in this session as they had the scope to discuss critical issues related to the text.

2. The lecture was enriching for the students and study materials/ synopses of the lecture was shared with them.
