The department of Music  was established in serampore girls'College in the year 2016. The first class of the department was started by one music Teacher and only Eight students  on  27 th July in 2016 and now  there are 29 students in 2022-2023 Batch who have chosen Music as one  of the main subjects for  their ug  course. From the very beginning the effort and the emphasis of the course taught here has been on the performing excellence. Many ex students of the department  who  have taken  admission in RBU and  chosen Music as a higher education.  The students of Music Department are participated in  many college cultural programs and competitions . The Department has provisional musical instruments like Tabla , Harmonium, Shreekhol  for the students and our department also invited  two guest Musicians For the  Music classes who helps the students for their riyaz.  There are  two  music teachers (SACT) in music department. Apart from them  renowned scholars,experts , music performers are invited as visiting lectures to give lectures and  the techniques to help the students to improve their skill.The department of music develop the sunlight in music and all contributing to making a good performer .
