India observes National Pollution Prevention Day on December 2 in memory of people who lost their lives in the Bhopal gas disaster. Our Department had memorised this day by organising a Online Sensitization -Cum-Awareness Programme in virtual platform. Professor Nilanjana Das Chatterjee Department of Geography,Vidyasagar University,Midnapore Invited as a Resource Person in the Online Sensitization -Cum-Awareness Programme on the occasion of National Pollution Control Day. Professor Nilanjana Das Chatterjee has deliberated her speech on “Urbanisation and its Environmental consequence” . The inaugural speech was given by our respected Principal Madam DR. Soma Roy.
The objective behind the interactive session was to educate the students about the importance of pollution control, the necessary preventive measures, and to adopt an environmentally friendly and low carbon footprint life.
Students understood that it is necessary to control pollution and it is not only the Government’s duty, we should also participate and make the environment clean as a clean environment helps people to do their tasks in a better way and live life happily.
